Professional Football
As fans of pro football know, Florida is the home of three different NFL teams. One of the NFL's greatest quarterbacks, Dan Marino, played for the Miami Dolphins. Located in Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers won the Super Bowl in 2002. When the NFL expanded in 1995, the Jacksonville Jaguars were added. Between the three teams, Florida has been the home of three Super Bowl champion teams. Two of those belong to the Miami Dolphins for their 1972 and 1973 seasons.

Professional Baseball
Tampa Bay and Miami have a thriving pro sports scene. Not only are both cities home to professional football teams, they are also the locations of two professional baseball teams. Tampa Bay Rays have been a part of Major League Baseball since 1998. Although their name refers to the Tampa Bay area, they are based specifically in St. Petersburg, Florida. Miami is the home of the Miami Marlins, originally known as the Florida Marlins. The Marlins have won two MLB championships, first in 1997 and a second in 2003.
